Hi
esllo that is why I greatly appreciate this company for supporting my work, clearly not have been possible without YOU, that visits my blog, whom I also thank you wholeheartedly. I hope you had a nice holiday and started the year well.
The first entry of this 2011 is a special detailed thanks to the people of epoxy putty "gold" , which currently use for my figures, whom I contacted for show my work. Luckily, they liked what they do and decided to grant a "sponsor."
it is true that there are many products on the market to create sculptures, however, I used to use the mark, either because it is cost, nobility for modeling and because I feel comfortable with it, to the extent that I already know most of their tricks.

I'll comment a bit the characteristics of the epoxy putty , because I keep getting inquiries about how to model basic epoxy, the product of some bumps that I covered in the tutorial already posted.
ABC Epoxy Modeling Putty : Characteriza
characteristics: not go into details about the chemical composition, we will what we want. It comes in two components (filler and accelerator) in the case of the mastic "gold" colors are brown and white, per se. We must cut equal proportions mix and knead with hands until a uniform color and no streaks.
curing or drying time: Three hours (total). Here we must consider what you want to work. Immediately have merged the two components , we get a very soft putty , ideal to create simple volumes (no complicated details) or to seal imperfections. For example, when we have the skeleton of wire reinforced and we will give a slight notion of the size and shape of the figure. Also used in this state, when we finished the set and seal or cover imperfections or attached muscles (see tutorial human body). Past
15 minutes components have merged: Van to notice that "this warm" in this state is more rubbery putty and not so soft, I recommend letting it stand this time to work details and refine the shapes.
After 30 minutes of the mix: Aca because you have to work faster, because at 45 minutes, it is almost impossible to shape the putty, let it stand this time for areas that need to "defy gravity" as the fingers, horns or projections . If we get the right setting, we will be able to do some parties without requiring a wire bra. It is also advisable to let it stand this time to make parts that must be well rounded or in itself, require a uniformity very capricious as the nose and face in general, with this hardness, going to resolve less estecazos forms and modeling. Consider that in this state, we have to use petroleum jelly to stretch the putty without the appearance of cuts.
Handout:
can see in the picture: Esteco metal, rubber modeling tool (to make softer and rounded details.) Piedras , which used to stamp and create rock surfaces (as I did with the base of Wolverine), we can slap fabrics, metals and any type of relief.

As facilitate modeling (avoiding cracks and doing more "docile" putty):
I use water to wet my fingers to distribute it better on the surface, if not have to model in detail, for that matter, use solid Vaseline because it avoids the cracks and leaves it smoother, but be careful, because it neutralizes adherence. If you want to join an area with another or add a layer of mastic to a previously hardened, we should not use vaseline, in this case, we use water. Forget moisturizer, Vaseline keeps us from sticking to hands.
Care and Precautions: is a product of low toxicity , can irritate sensitive skin . If we use Vaseline no problem, but if you use water can be used latex gloves.
In my case, when I see that I have enough product accumulated on the palms, I wash with warm water and soap (by friction) and return to work. If you smoke, do not do near the work piece, because its vapors can affect you long term ... and the butt too!
If you feel a "whiff" , not eat or drink nearby.
Painting can be painted with any technique ( acrylics, tempera, oils, anhilinas, etc) . When the work is well set and if you used vaseline launder with water, detergent and then dried cotton with alcohol . For paint adhesion, previously pass it automotive base or primer ("First" common component of a spray) or a paint sealant as timber fund.
models and elements of inspiration:
is always good to have a manual or guide the antomÃa muscle, you can also use pictures or drawings. I also used the works of the artists that influenced my drawing style, which I try to take my sculptures: Todd Mc Farlane (and their minions), Simon Bisley , Ariel Olivetti , John Mueller and other twisted and monstrous (style, not the artists, heh).
is also good to have, a sculpture or action figure , to better appreciate the muscles and the ways in three dimensions, of course the ideal would be a real model ... the itching stopped.

hope you find it useful, especially for those who want to start, I know I still waaaaay to be at the height of several of the club, but I keep getting.
any doubt, do it in the comments, please do so via mail, so the answer fits all. Another thing, if you see this post 20 years after its publication, as well ask me if I'm still in this (or live at least) I will respond.
health and success!
