II Student Conference Call

Produce knowledge for social transformation.
UNGS. 8, 9 and October 10, 2009

"We did not study in order to accumulate static knowledge.
as students Our cause is the knowledge militant
critical knowledge that challenges, refutes, transforms and revolutionizes the reality. "
student movement in Mexico, 1968

In these latter days of students wanted to examine the debate that began last year on the university and the role we must fulfill the student movement in that construction. In 2008 we had the presence of more than 7 national universities and the presentation of more than 12 papers on different topics that affect student movements and higher education.

Again, the organization of this conference is directed from the students, for students on the occasion of promoting participation, seeking to ensure greater involvement of our faculty in academic life and university policy.

The year 2009 finds us in the context of a global capitalist crisis that challenges the university as a space for reflection and creating alternatives to overcome this crisis in favor of the popular sectors, which are the most affected by it.

En ese sentido, creemos en la posibilidad de desarrollar pensamiento crítico, generando propuestas and practical interventions that put us as a leading actor to help in the development of a university committed to the workers. Then try to generate an instance of critical reflection on the role of students in the construction of a public university, popular, democratic, scientific and solidarity that contributes to social change.
